D-Black Mocks Infamous Dr UN Awards, Five Years On

It has been five years since the much-talked-about Dr UN Awards shook Ghana’s entertainment industry, and rapper D-Black has once again found humor in the episode.

The awards, organized by Kwame Fordjour, popularly known as Dr UN, turned out to be one of the most controversial events in Ghana’s showbiz history after it was discovered that the plaques presented to several high-profile personalities, including D-Black, had no official endorsement.

Taking to social media, D-Black reflected on the incident with a dose of sarcasm, sharing old images from the event and poking fun at himself and others who were “honoured” that night. His post sparked amusement among fans, many of whom recalled how the awards became a national topic of ridicule.

The light-hearted jab shows that, years later, the rapper has fully embraced the joke while also reminding Ghanaians of one of the industry’s most unforgettable scandals.
