Sammy Flex Reveals Why Medikal Didn’t Show Up at EOCO Amid Shatta Wale’s Detention

Shatta Wale’s public relations officer, Sammy Flex, has addressed questions surrounding rapper Medikal’s absence at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) during Shatta Wale’s brief detention.
On August 21, 2025, EOCO detained Shatta Wale in connection with investigations into the purchase of his 2019 Lamborghini Urus. His fans, alongside the likes of Bullet of Rufftown Records, Captan, and members of his management team, turned up at EOCO’s headquarters demanding his release. Notably missing was Medikal, Shatta Wale’s close friend and acclaimed rapper. While others rallied visibly, Medikal remained quiet—only posting on social media after Shatta Wale’s release, a move that drew criticism from fans .
During a YouTube episode, Sammy Flex revealed that Shatta Wale himself asked Medikal to avoid the EOCO premises to spare him from further risk. Sammy Flex clarified that he spoke frequently with Medikal while Shatta Wale was in custody, and noted that Medikal’s manager had shown up the night before. As Sammy Flex put it:
“It was Shatta Wale himself who told Medikal not to make an appearance there (EOCO headquarters)… I was having back-to-back conversations with him. His manager even came there the night before.”
Medikal’s behind-the-scenes support might have been strategic, but it didn’t placate fans’ emotions, and the explanation has since fueled mixed reactions online.
