Veteran Ghanaian actress Belinda Naa Ode Oku, popularly known as Adwoa Smart, has opened up about the hidden struggles behind her years in the limelight.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Manu, the screen icon, who rose to fame in the early 2000s, revealed that despite her numerous acting roles, she has faced persistent financial difficulties.
Adwoa Smart expressed disappointment over the public perception that all celebrities live lavish lifestyles. She explained that many assume she resides in a luxurious mansion, but in reality, her living conditions are far from such assumptions.
The actress also criticized certain movie producers for contributing to the financial instability of actors, alleging that some fail to pay performers after shoots. This, she said, fuels the misconception that actors are wealthy, while in truth, many quietly battle to make ends meet.
