Kadjebi Inner-Town Roads Undergo Facelift to Enhance Connectivity and Economic Growth

The inner-town roads of Kadjebi, the district capital of the Kadjebi District in the Oti Region, are currently undergoing significant rehabilitation in a bid to improve transportation, enhance connectivity, and boost local economic activities.

According to reports, the first phase of the project involves the construction of concrete gutters to improve drainage along major roads. Currently, work is actively ongoing from the Kadjebi District Assembly stretch toward the Zongo Road, a major entry route into the town.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide a long-lasting solution to the town’s perennial road and drainage challenges, which often affect mobility, especially during the rainy season. Upon completion of the gutter works, the inner roads will receive a full facelift, which is expected to ease traffic flow and improve access to local markets and neighborhoods.

Kadjebi, known for its vibrant trading culture, especially on market days, attracts traders and buyers from nearby towns and even across the border from Togo. Enhancing the road network is expected to further strengthen these cross-border trade activities, creating more opportunities for local businesses to thrive.

Local residents have expressed optimism about the facelift, hopeful that it will improve living conditions, reduce road maintenance costs, and elevate Kadjebi’s image as a growing economic hub in the region.

The project, once completed, is expected to significantly impact the livelihoods of residents by making transportation smoother and boosting commercial activities across the district.
