Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Seized After Owner, Nana Kwabena Amuah, Jailed for $4M Fraud in US

The 2019 Lamborghini Urus reportedly linked to Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has been seized following a high-profile international fraud case involving its registered owner, Nana Kwabena Amuah.

According to an official statement released by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on August 6, 2025, Nana Kwabena Amuah is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence in the United States. He was convicted in October 2023 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering in connection with a multi-million-dollar fraud scheme.

US authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ), requested assistance from Ghanaian counterparts to trace assets linked to Amuah’s criminal operations. EOCO’s investigation revealed that the luxury vehicle in Shatta Wale’s possession was tied to the illicit proceeds of Amuah’s business email compromise scam.

Described by US prosecutors as the ringleader of a sophisticated criminal enterprise, Amuah was at the centre of an elaborate financial laundering scheme that moved millions of dollars across borders. His case has sparked a collaborative investigation between EOCO and the FBI, focusing on the laundering of funds obtained through cyber fraud and other financial crimes.

While Shatta Wale’s direct involvement in the case remains unconfirmed, the vehicle’s seizure forms part of a broader crackdown on assets believed to have been acquired through criminal means.
