Dambai Launches Major Road Rehabilitation to Enhance Infrastructure

Dambai, the capital of the Oti Region, has begun a significant road rehabilitation project aimed at revitalizing its deteriorating inner-town roads and strengthening its overall transportation network.
The initiative is being spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nketia Safo, who has identified road development as a key priority. Among the first roads undergoing renovation is the Wankayaw Anyabour 1 Road—a crucial link for local transportation and community access.
In partnership with the Department of Feeder Roads, the project is expected to greatly improve the condition, safety, and usability of Dambai’s roads. This effort forms part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize infrastructure, cut down travel times, and address daily transportation challenges faced by residents.
According to Hon. Safo, the rehabilitation project will not only enhance road surfaces but also promote pedestrian safety and boost economic activities throughout the municipality. “This is about improving everyday life for our people,” he stated. “Quality roads are vital for accessing markets, schools, healthcare, and other essential services.”
The upgrades to the Wankayaw Anyabour 1 Road mark the beginning of a broader transformation of Dambai’s road infrastructure. Additional projects are expected to follow, reflecting a long-term commitment to the town’s development and prosperity.
The initiative has been met with optimism from residents, who believe that better roads will unlock more opportunities and lead to a higher quality of life. As Dambai continues with these vital infrastructure improvements, the town is setting the stage for lasting growth and advancement.
