Renowned Ghanaian actor Mawuli Semevo has passed away at the age of 63.

The veteran actor, Mawuli Semevor succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Ridge Hospital, where he was receiving treatment after suffering severe burns in a fire accident about a week earlier.

His condition was first made public on February 8, 2025, by Judith Addison of Beyond Burns International, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting burn survivors. She revealed that Semevo was in critical condition following the incident.

Semevo, celebrated for his contributions to Ghanaian theatre and film, leaves behind a legacy of outstanding performances that helped shape the country’s entertainment industry.

His passing is a major loss to the creative arts community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and fans.

“Rest In Perfect Peace, Senior Mawuli Semevo,” actor Ken Fiati wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post.

He starred in several films, including Harvest at 17, A Stab in the Dark, Escape of Love, Like Cotton Twines, and The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.
