Kofi Adomah’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and impact. From his early days as a teacher to becoming one of Ghana’s most influential media personalities, he has navigated challenges and personal tragedies to establish Kofi TV as a powerhouse of investigative journalism.
Early Life and Career Transition
Stephen Kofi Adomah, widely known as Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, is a Ghanaian journalist, educator, and philanthropist. He currently serves as the Director of News at Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) and is the founder and CEO of Kofi TV.
Born in Berekum in the Bono Region, Kofi Adomah initially trained as a teacher. However, his passion for media led him to transition into journalism. His broadcasting career began at Shalom Radio in Berekum, followed by stints at Volta Star Radio (GBC Ho), Fox FM in Kumasi, and Hot FM in Accra.
His major breakthrough came when he joined Adom FM and Adom TV under Multimedia Group Limited, where he became the lead news anchor for the 6 PM evening bulletin. During his decade-long tenure at Multimedia, he hosted Pampaso, served as the editor and producer of Adom Kasee, and was a standby host for Dwaso Nsem.
While working at Multimedia, he launched Kofi TV, a YouTube channel dedicated to interviews with politicians, pastors, and celebrities. In 2020, two years after leaving Adom FM, he joined Angel FM, where he currently serves as the lead news anchor and morning show host.
Influence and Investigative Journalism
Kofi Adomah’s brand of journalism, particularly his investigative reports and human-interest stories, has garnered both admiration and controversy. His fearless approach to exposing hidden truths has earned him respect but also put him at risk.
Although he has extensive experience in mainstream radio and television, his Kofi TV platform has significantly expanded his influence. Covering crime reports, social issues, and exclusive interviews, the channel has become a trusted source of news for Ghanaians.
Life-Threatening Attacks
Throughout his career, Kofi Adomah has faced multiple attacks due to his fearless journalism.
In 2022, he was assaulted by unknown assailants near Old Ashongman while returning from Kuntunse. The attackers, who were on motorbikes and armed with sharp objects, inflicted injuries on his face, arms, and shoulders. Reports indicate they even attempted to set him on fire after dousing him with a substance believed to be petrol.
A more tragic incident occurred in 2025 when he was allegedly shot in the eye during an outdoor event. The shocking news was first disclosed by his colleague, Afia Pokuaa (Vim Lady), who expressed her devastation on social media. Weeks later, footage surfaced revealing the details of the attack.
His wife, Miracle Adoma, later confirmed that the assault had left him blind in one eye, and he eventually lost sight in the other. She also expressed disappointment in Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, for failing to reach out or show concern after the attack.
