I Went To Prison Because Of Bike Life – Newton Light
Jasikan-based versatile musician Newton Kini, better known as Newton Light, recently opened up about his time in Kpando prison, revealing the unexpected circumstances that led to his arrest.
In a candid conversation with Baba Midnyt on the show “Midnyt Convo,” Newton Light shared the story behind his three-month imprisonment, which stemmed from his passion for performing bike stunts.
Newton Light explained that he was arrested several years ago due to concerns that his daring bike stunts were having a negative influence on the youth. Authorities argued that he needed to be made an example of, to deter others from following in his footsteps. Despite this setback, Newton Light’s love for bike stunts only grew stronger during his time behind bars.
Upon his release, Newton Light found that his popularity had soared. When visiting towns like Hohoe, Kadjebi, and others, the youth began to actively engage in his stunts, cheering him on with even greater enthusiasm.
Far from diminishing his spirit, his time in prison seemed to have ignited a new level of energy and support among his fans, proving that his passion for bike life could not be easily extinguished.
